PLAYOFF PICTURE
With 18 games remaining in the regular season, the Monarchs hold the top spot in the North Division by four points over the Adirondack Thunder. Reading sits third with 64 points and the Wheeling Nailers round out the top four with 61 points. The magic number for the Monarchs to clinch a playoff spot is 23 points, meaning the combined points gained by the Monarchs and points not earned by the Worcester Railers, will result in the 16th playoff berth in franchise history.
LEADING THE WAY
Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman not only leads the Monarchs with 60 points, but sits second in the ECHL, just four points behind Shawn Szydlowski of the Fort Wayne Komets. LaVallee-Smotherman has also led the way against the Royals this season with seven points (6g, 1a) in five games. LaVallee-Smotherman's six goals make up 28.6% of the Manchester goals (21) against Reading this season.
TAKE ADVANTAGE
The Monarchs have struggled when on the power play against the Royals this season and have only converted on 5.3% (1-for-19) of their man advantages. On the season, the Monarchs have converted on 18.8% (46-for-245) of their power plays, good for a sixth-place tie in the league.
