WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs enter the final game before the Christmas break alone atop the Eastern Conference with 38 points, one clear of the Orlando Solar Bears and Florida Everblades. Manchester holds a three-point advantage in the North Division over the Adirondack Thunder, who squeaked out a win with less than five seconds to go in overtime last night against the Jackals.

TURNING IT ON

Manchester has been hot as of late, posting a record of 7-2-1-0 in their last ten games played, including winning seven of their last eight games. In contrast, the Jackals have been in games recently but have not been able to close, going 3-4-3-0 in their last ten.

TOP PENALTY KILL

The Monarchs penalty kill leads the league with a 90.7% success rate, and have allowed only 10 goals on 107 chances. Manchester is tied for the fewest goals against while on the PK with Rapid City, but have killed 29 more chances than the Rush. The Manchester penalty kill is 1.8% better than second-place Missouri, while fending-off eight more short-handed opportunities than the Mavericks.

KEEP IT COMING

Seven Monarchs enter tonight's game posting at least one point per game against the Jackals, including: Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman (3g, 1a in 4 games), Daniel Ciampini (2g, 2a in 4 games), Daniel Doremus (1g, 3a in 4 games), Matt Leitner (1g, 3a in 2 games), Alexx Privitera (1g, 3a in 3 games), Rihards Bukarts (1g, 2a in 3 games) and Ashton Rome (1a in 1 game).

OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Elmira enters today's game with 2.32 goals scored per game, second-worst in the league. Manchester has posted 3.82 goals per game, 4th in the league. The averages will be closer in tonight's game, however, as the Jackals have posted 2.83 goals per game at home this season, while the Monarchs have scored an average of 3.60 goals per game away from SNHU Arena.

WHERE ARE THE SHOTS?

The Jackals have a league-worst 24.56 shots per game, with a total of 614 shots on goal this season. The Cincinnati Cyclones hold the 26th spot for fewest shots on target, averaging 27.69 shots a game. Elmira has a chance to raise their average tonight despite the Monarchs ranking 4th in shots against, as the team has allowed 28.39 shots per game.
