Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (17-13-1-0) behind 33 saves from Riley Gill beat the Idaho Steelheads (15-10-2-1) by a count of 6-0, in front 3,702 fans at Allen Event Center.

Riley Gill won his 14th game of the season on Thursday night, picking up his fourth shutout of the year along with his fourth whitewash in his last ten starts. Gill lowered his goals against average to 2.23 with a .934 save percentage.

" Riley is in a grove right now," said Americans defenseman Mike Gunn. "He's confident with every save and it shows. They had some great scoring chances tonight, especially late in the game on the power play but Giller (Riley Gill) was not giving an inch. "

Chad Costello had two more goals tonight for Allen, his 16thand 17th of the season. Costello is now up to 47 points on the year and leads the ECHL scoring race by eight points. Spencer Asuchak had another three-point night with a goal and two assists. Greger Hanson chipped in with two helpers to extend his assists streak to six games.

"Our team is playing really well right now," said Riley Gill. "I have to give a lot of credit to the guys in front of me who blocked shots and cleared things out in front of the net. "It makes my job a lot easier."

Bryan Moore extended his goal streak to four games with his fifth of the season which he scored shorthanded. Gary Steffes scored his seventh of the season, as both he and Moore had a goal and an assist.

The Americans and Steelheads wrap up the two-game set tomorrow night at 7:05 PM at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com or call 972-912-1000.
