Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announce the team's 2007-08 promotional schedule by kicking off with a mini 2006-07 Atlantic Division Championship replica banner giveaway on Opening Night, followed by the return of Give Back the Greenbacks in December and then will give the fans the opportunity to choose the giveaway item of their choice in the Fans Choice promotion in March, Monarchs Director of Marketing Phil Signoroni announced today.
Every fan in attendance at the Monarchs Home Opener on October 6 will receive a mini 2006-07 Atlantic Division Championship replica banner and will be entertained throughout the game by the inflatable sports characters, Zooperstars. The team will also bring back its Give Back the Greenbacks promotion with a new twist on Friday, December 8, courtesy of TD Banknorth. Similar to the previous seasons, the first 3,000 fans will be handed envelopes at the doors with 2,000 containing different denominations of money and the remaining 1,000 envelopes will hold $5 gift certificates to the Monarchs Pro Shop. New this season, fans will have opportunities to win cash throughout the game, too. The cash prizes in the envelopes and game promotions will total $10,000.
"We're excited to bring a few new promotions and giveaways to our fans this season," said Signoroni. "We have had some excellent feedback and ideas from our loyal fans. It's going to be another great season to be a resident of Monarchs Country."
Fans will have the opportunity to pick the giveaway item, such as a bobblehead, Mr. Potato Head or a figurine, for the game on March 8 by logging onto www.monarchshockey.com starting in October and voting on the in-game events and giveaway of their choice.
National act, Quick Change, will return to the Verizon Wireless Arena and perform during the first intermission of the game on Friday, March 14. The fast-moving, costume-changing illusion duo made it to the finals of NBC's "America's Got Talent" last season and have performed at arenas across the country.
Max's Birthday celebration will be on Tuesday, February 26 while his friends and Monarchs fans wish him a Happy 7th Birthday. The annual New Year's Eve fireworks show will be held on Monday, December 31, following the Monarchs game against the Worcester Sharks.
The Monarchs are proud to announce the new Winning Weekdays promotion this season. When the Monarchs win on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, fans now have the opportunity to redeem their game ticket for a free ticket for the next Winning Weekday game.
In addition, the Monarchs Care Foundation will continue to utilize its fans with its charitable efforts including the Teaming Up For Warmth Coat Drive where fans, in conjunction with E&R Cleaners, are encouraged to bring unwanted coats for families in need on Saturday, October 27, and the Toys For Tots Toy Drive when fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy for children in need on Saturday, December 8. The Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, December 16, allows fans to throw stuffed animals onto the ice to be given to local charities and on Saturday, April 5, the Monarchs will collect non-perishable food items for the New Hampshire Food Bank as part of the Put Hunger On Ice Food Drive.
