
Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Kevin Morris and Cory Ward have been returned from loan by the Syracuse Crunch (AHL), while Eric Robinson and Ed Wittchow have been recalled by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).
The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.
Morris, 24, returns to the Monarchs after playing two games without scoring a point with the Crunch after signing a PTO on Feb. 21. In 48 games with the Monarchs this season, Morris scored 25 points on 12 goals and 13 assists. Morris has earned 72 penalty minutes, a +8 rating and is tied for the Monarchs lead with four game-winning-goals.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound native of Massena, N.Y., signed with the Monarchs after a four-year career at the Miami University (OH) where he scored 48 points on 22 goals and 26 assists in 153 games. After playing six games with the Monarchs in the 2015-16 season, Morris was loaned to the Binghamton Senators (AHL) where he played two games.
Ward, 23, heads back to Manchester after playing two games with the Crunch, where he recorded on assist. With the Monarchs, Ward has scored 29 points on 13 goals and 16 assists during his rookie campaign. Ward earned 14 penalty minutes and a +12 rating in 50 games during his first full professional season.
The 5-foot-11, 201-pound native of Las Vegas, N.V., played collegiately at Bemidji State University for four seasons, and scored 80 points on 45 goals and 35 assists in 151 games. After his senior season completed, Ward signed with the St. John's IceCaps (AHL), and scored three points on three assists in eight games.
In a separate move, Ed Wittchow and Eric Robinson have been recalled by the Thunderbirds.
Morris, Ward, Flinn and the Monarchs are back in action Sunday, Feb. 26 (3 p.m.) when they complete a two-game series with the Alaska Aces at SNHU Arena.
