Rockland County - Kevonte Mitchell lined a single to left field that scored pinch-runner Phil Capra in the 10th inning to give the New York Boulders a 4-3 win over Equipe Quebec on Tuesday night at Palisades Credit Union Park.

Capra pinch ran for Marcus Mastrobuoni to start the bottom of the 10th inning at second base per the international tiebreaker rule. Quebec reliever Nick Horvath retired Zach Kirtley on a grounder to short and Tucker Nathans on a fly to right-center that advanced Capra to third.

Mitchell followed with his game-winning hit.

The victory gave New York sole possession of first place, half a game up on the Tri-City Valley Cats and one full game ahead of Quebec .

In the top of the 10th, New York reliever Luke Burton, with the bases loaded, struck out Jesse Hodges to keep the game deadlocked at 3-3.

Burton got the win for New York, raising his season mark to 1-1. Horvath took the loss, falling to 1-4 on the year.

Quebec had jumped in front 2-0 with runs in the first and third innings - L.P. Pelletier responsible for both runs. In the first frame, Pelletier led off the game by being hit by a pitch by New York starter Andy Hammond. With Ruben Castro at bat, Pelletier stole second, then, while attempting to steal third, Castro struck out, but the ball eluded Boulders' catcher Gian Martellini, who threw wildly to first base, allowing Castro to reach and Pelletier to score.

In the third stanza, Pelletier hit a home run, his second of the season.

New York knotted the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning. Kirtley led off with a single and scored on Nathans' double. One out later, Ryan Ramiz knocked in Nathans with a single.

Quebec, though, regained the lead in the fifth at 3-2 on an RBI single by David Glaude, However, New York answered in the bottom of the inning on a run-scoring single by Kirtley, his third hit of the night, that leveled the scoreboard at 3-3.

The fifth inning would be the final one for Hammond, as well as Quebec's Codie Paiva.

Each team ended the evening using six pitchers.
