SAN ANTONIO - On a warm Father's Day afternoon, the Missions offense struggled to score runs in their 8-2 loss to Northwest Arkansas. The series ends in a 3-3 split. The Missions recorded four hits during the game.
After a losing effort last night, the Naturals came to play on Sunday afternoon and scored three runs in the first inning. The game started with back-to-back walks before Nick Pratto launched a three-run home run. It was his 12th long ball of the season. After allowing a double, Reggie Lawson struck out the next two batters. He was pulled after recording the second out.
With Dylan Rheault pitching, the Naturals added two more runs in the second inning. After back-to-back walks and a stolen base, Rudy Martin scored after a throwing error from Missions catcher Juan Fernandez. Martin was stealing third base when Fernandez threw the ball into left field. Bobby Witt, Jr. followed that up with an RBI single to make it a 5-0 ballgame.
The Missions ended their shutout with a run in the third inning. Allen Cordoba led off the inning with a base hit. Dwanya Williams-Sutton was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat. After outs from Michael Curry and Jose Azocar, CJ Abrams drove in a run with an RBI ground-rule double.
