Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, North Dakota - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks faltered in game two of its regular season series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Feld on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon.

Like the series' first game, Winnipeg was quick to score, with a solo home run to lead off the game and a couple of hits stitched together allowed the Goldeyes to take a quick 3-0 lead after the first inning.

The RedHawks would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning as a couple of miscues would put Nick Novak and Sam Dexter on second and third respectfully as Alec Olund crushed a homerun over the center field fence to tie the game.

Jake Dykhoff would start to settle in as he made his professional debut for the RedHawks. The Minnesota Crookston product allowed only one more run in the top of the fourth inning. He finished his day pitching 5.1 innings, giving up four runs off seven hits, walking two while striking out nine.

Winnipeg would add seven more runs off RedHawk relief pitching top of the ninth thanks to seven walks and a three-run homerun to give the game its final score of 11-3

With the loss, Fargo-Moorhead falls to a 3-2 record on the early season. The early week series will conclude tomorrow, Wednesday May 16, as the RedHawks will look to take the series against the Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Field before embarking on a nine-game road trip. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
