
Minnesota Wild Recalls Christoph Bertschy, Landon Ferraro and Zack

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher tonight announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee), Landon Ferraro and Zack Mitchell from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Bertschy, 23 (4/5/94), has skated in three games with Iowa this season. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound native of Fribourg, Switzerland, collected 24 points (11-1324) and 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in 67 contests with Iowa last season. Bertschy ranked second on the team in shots on goal (150) and T-4th in goals. Bertschy also tallied one assist in five games with Minnesota last season and has recorded one assist in eight career NHL contests with the Wild. He was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.
Ferraro, 26 (8/8/91), has tallied two assists and leads Iowa with 12 shots on goal in three games this season. He collected 15 points (7-815) and 12 PIM in 22 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) in 2016-17. During the 2015-16 season, the 6-foot, 180-pound native of Trail, British Columbia, skated in 10 games with the Detroit Red Wings before being claimed off waivers by the Boston Bruins on Nov. 22, 2015. In 58 games with the Bruins, he tallied 10 points (5-510) and 20 PIM. Ferraro owns 11 points (6-511) and 29 PIM in 75 career NHL contests with the Red Wings and Bruins. He also skated in seven Stanley Cup playoff matches with Detroit in 2014-15. He played for Canada at the 2009 World Under-18 Championship and was originally selected by Detroit in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Ferraro was signed by the Wild as a free agent on July 1, 2017 and will wear sweater No. 41 with Minnesota.
Mitchell, 24 (1/7/93), has recorded one assist in three games with Iowa this season. He appeared in 11 games with Minnesota in 2016-17, including his NHL debut at Pittsburgh on Nov. 10, 2016. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward registered 22 points (11-1122) and 10 PIM in 62 games with Iowa in 2016-17, leading the club with eight power-play goals. Mitchell tallied 42 points (22-2042) in 70 contests with Iowa in 2015-16 and led the team in scoring and goals. The native of Orangeville, Ont., originally signed with Minnesota as a free agent on March 4, 2014 and wears No. 59 with the Wild.
