
Minnesota Wild Recalls Christoph Bertschy and Gustav Olofsson from Iowa

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee) and defenseman Gustav Olofsson (pronounced GOO-stahv OH-lawf-suhn) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.
Bertschy, 21 (4/5/94), totaled two shots and one hit in 8:08 of ice time in his NHL debut on Nov. 7 in the Wild's 1-0 win against Tampa Bay. He has collected six points (2-4=6) including a power-play and shorthanded goal and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with Iowa this season. The rookie ranks T-1st on the team in goals and scoring. Bertschy collected 30 points (14-160), a plus-14 rating and 26 PIM in 44 games with SC Bern in the Swiss League in 2014-15. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound native of Fribourg, Switzerland was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.
Olofsson, 20 (12/1/94), has recorded three assists in 15 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound native of Boras, Sweden, has collected four points (1-3=4) and 33 shots on goal in 24 career AHL games with Iowa. Olofsson suffered a season-ending injury in Iowa's first game of the 2014-15 season. He collected eight points (4-4=8) in 30 games in his freshman campaign with Colorado College in 2013-14 and tallied five points (1-4=5) to help Sweden claim a silver medal at the 2014 World Junior Championship. Olofsson was selected by Minnesota in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He has not appeared in a NHL game and will wear sweater No. 23 with Minnesota.
Minnesota plays its first of four consecutive road games tonight, visiting the Carolina Hurricanes at 6 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
