Iowa Wild News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has claimed center Jarret Stoll off waivers from the New York Rangers.
Stoll, 33 (6/24/82), has collected 382 points (141-24182) and 602 penalty minutes (PIM) in 821 career NHL games during parts of 13 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings and Rangers. The 6-foot-1, 216-pound native of Melville, Saskatchewan, has won 55.4 percent of faceoffs taken in his career. This season he tallied three points (1-2=3) in 29 games with New York and his 57.9 faceoff percentage ranks seventh in the NHL amongst players that have taken at least 250 faceoffs.
Since 2003-04, his first full season in the NHL, he ranks seventh amongst all active players in faceoff win percentage (55.4%), ninth in faceoffs won (6,973) and 10th in faceoffs taken (12,582). In addition, he is one of three NHL players (among qualifying skaters) who have posted a 51.0 faceoff win percentage or higher in every season since 2003-04, along with Joe Thornton and Pavel Datsyuk.
Stoll won the Stanley Cup twice as a member of the Kings in 2012 and 2014 and also advanced to the Finals in 2006. In 93 career NHL playoff games, he has registered 26 points (10-16&) along with a plus-five rating and 68 PIM. Stoll was originally selected by Calgary in the second round (46th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Upon re-entering the draft, he was selected by Edmonton in the second round (36th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Stoll will wear sweater No. 19 with Minnesota.
