Minnesota United Recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Minnesota United announced today that the club will recognize Mental Health Awareness Month throughout the month of May. At Saturday's game against FC Cincinnati (May 7, @ 7:00 p.m. CT, presented by Federated Insurance), MNUFC will celebrate Mental Health Awareness with several in-game elements:

Mental Health T-shirt and scarf, available to purchase at the Black and Blue Team Store, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota (NAMI)

Mental Health Awareness video board pregame compilation featuring Minnesota United players

L'Etoile du Nord honorees: Ramsey County's Mental Health and Wellness Action Team

Halftime performance from singer-songwriter and native Minnesotan, Nate Amor

Additionally, this month, MNUFC will provide resources for mental health and promote the importance of mental wellness:

Sound of the Loons podcast featuring MNUFC defender DJ Taylor and Dr. Meghan Miller from Allina Health on mental health and wellbeing.

An honest and vulnerable and open conversation on mental health and its impact with MNUFC players Niko Hansen, Tani Oluwaseyi and DJ Taylor.

For the entire month of May, fans are encouraged to round up their purchases as a part of our Register Round Up program at the Black and Blue Team Store to benefit NAMI Minnesota

MNUFC will hold a Jersey Auction from May 16 - 20; proceeds go to benefit NAMI Minnesota. For more information and to see the jerseys for auction head to mnufc.givesmart.com.
