Colorado Rapids Visit Local Schools, Surprise Teachers and Students in Celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, the Colorado Rapids made visits to multiple Denver and Commerce City schools to show their gratitude for the leaders of the next generation.

"These teachers deserve to be recognized today and everyday, and we're honored to be out here recognizing them and all the work that they've done," said Rapids Senior Community Relations and Youth Programming Director, Caitlin Kinser. Rapidman and various Rapids team members made five different appearances to schools in the community to give thanks to Denver's educators this week.

On Tuesday, Collen Warner, Nico Mezquida, and Lalas Abubakar delivered Rapids scarves, merch and two tickets to the next home game against LAFC to teachers at Rose Hill Elementary School, before Jack Price and Auston Trusty did the same at Kearney Middle School on Wednesday.

"We have an incredible staff here at Kearney, we have amazing kids and an amazing community but truly our administrators, I really appreciate them and all of our team including our paraprofessional staff, as well," said school counselor Allisha Damman.

On Thursday, Rapidman and defender Steven Beitashour delivered pizzas, flowers and scarves to the teachers and staff at two local Primrose schools while players Diego Rubio, Braian Galván, and Michael Barrios surprised Spanish teacher Claudia Sandridge and the 8th grade soccer team at Christ the King Catholic School with gifts and tickets to the LAFC game.

"For me, [teachers] are the most important people in the world because they are the people teaching the next generation the most important things," said Rubio. "For us, it's very important."

The Colorado Rapids continue to thank all teachers and educators for everything they do for the youth of the Colorado community!
