
Minnesota Signs Collegiate Standout Justin Kloos

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Justin Kloos to a two-year, entry-level contract starting with the 2017-18 season. He will report to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) for the remainder of this season.
Kloos, 23 (11/30/93), recorded 43 points (18-2543), including six game-winning goals and six power-play tallies in 38 games during his senior season with the University of Minnesota. The two-year team captain led the Gophers in GWG, ranked second in PPG and third in assists and goals during his senior season. The 5-foot-9, 182-pound native of Lakeville, Minn., tallied 150 points (63-87150) in 155 games in four seasons at the University of Minnesota and did not miss a game during his collegiate career. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten and earned the John Mariucci Most Valuable Player Award and the Elwin "Doc" Romnes Leadership & Sportsmanship Award following the 2015-16 season. Kloos was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team in 2015 and 2016.
He led the Gophers and ranked fourth in the Big Ten in scoring in 2015-16 with 43 points (16-2743) in 37 contests. Kloos led the Gophers with 16 goals during his freshman season in 2013-14 and was named the NCAA West Regional Most Outstanding Player and an All-Tournament Team member as Minnesota advanced to the NCAA championship game. He led the state in scoring with 103 points in 31 games during his senior season at Lakeville South High School and was honored as the 2012 Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award winner, helping Lakeville South to an appearance in the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.
Iowa welcomes the Chicago Wolves on Friday, March 31 at 7 PM. The Race Car night is presented by NAPA Auto Parts and Freedom Tires. The first 1,500 fans to arrive at the game receive a family car decal presented by Star 102.5. It is also $2 beer night presented by 100.3 The BUS. Collegeville packs are available for purchase at the game, sponsored by KISS FM and Buffalo Wild Wings. The St. Patrick's Day themed specialty jerseys, worn by the Iowa Wild for all three home games in March, are auctioned off at the live postgame jersey auction on Friday, Mar. 31.
Iowa takes on the Cleveland Monsters at Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday, April 2 at 5 PM. It is Superhero night. The first 1500 kids 12 and under to arrive at the game receive youth Superman jerseys sponsored by Leafguard and Nash FM. The team is hosting a book drive at the game. There is a postgame skate at the conclusion of the game. Skates can be rented for $2 and proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association. Kids skates are also available. Subway combo packs are available for purchase at the game.

The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
