
Minnesota Recalls Kuemper from Iowa

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Thursday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL), activated defenseman Clayton Stoner from the Injured Reserve list and placed forward Zenon Konopka on Waivers.
Kuemper, 23 (5/5/90), is 7-10-0 with a 2.47 goals-against average (GAA), a .929 save percentage (SV%) and one shutout in 17 games with Iowa this season. He ranks tied for first in the AHL in SV%. Kuemper has appeared in two games with Minnesota this season and is 1-3-0 with a 2.77 GAA and a .881 SV% in eight career NHL games with the Wild. He also appeared in two NHL playoff games in relief and stopped 29-of-33 shots faced for a 3.29 GAA and a .879 SV%. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound native of Saskatoon, Sask., was the Wild's sixth-round selection (No. 161 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Stoner, 28 (2/19/85), has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury. He has collected three assists in 35 games this season and ranks second on the team with 35 penalty minutes (PIM) and tied for fourth in hits with 46. Konopka, 33 (1/2/81), has recorded two points (1-12) in 36 games and leads the team with 55 PIM this season.
The team will play six straight on the road prior to returning home on Jan. 15 to host Toronto at 7:05 p.m. Iowa will begin the road trip in Rockford on Friday at 7 p.m.
