
Emerson Etem Named CCM/AHL Player of the Month

NORFOLK, VA -- The American Hockey League announced Thursday that Norfolk Admirals right wing Emerson Etem has been named the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for December.
Etem, 21, totaled 15 points (7g, 8a) and a +6 rating in nine games played for Norfolk last month.
Etem posted a pair of three-point games during December. He helped pace the Admirals offense with a goal and two assists vs. Adirondack on Dec. 20, and scored two goals and an assist on Dec. 28 at Syracuse. In addition, Etem recorded the game-winning goal in Norfolk's 3-1 victory over the Phantoms on Dec. 21.
The 6-1, 206-pound forward has 20 points (8g, 12a) in 12 games played with Norfolk this season. The Long beach, Calf. native has also appeared in 26 contests with Anaheim this season, registering 10 points (6g, 4a) with four penalty minutes and a +2 rating.
Etem becomes the second Admirals player this season to receive an AHL monthly award honor. Goaltender John Gibson was named the CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for October.
. In recognition of his achievement, Etem will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Admirals home game.
The Admirals return home for a two-game set against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday and Saturday at Scope. On Friday, the first 2,025 fans will receive the second series of the Admirals trading card set!
