MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx released guard Monique Martin today. Martin was signed by the Lynx as a free agent in March. Minnesota's training camp roster now stands at 21 players overall, with six of those players still out of the country fulfilling their overseas commitments.

Martin, a 5-foot-11 guard from Thomson, Ga., was a 2007 Kodak/WBCA NAIA All-American selection following a stellar senior season at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga. She closed out the 2006-07 season leading the Barons in scoring, with an average of 29.5 points per game, rebounding, with 9.8 rebounds per game, and steals, with 3.7 per game. She scored 30 or more points 12 times in her senior season, and scored 50 or more points twice, with a season-high 52 points scored on Nov. 27, 2006, in a game against Edward Waters College.

The Minnesota Lynx will open their 10th Anniversary Season on May 18, 2008, against the Detroit Shock. Season and group tickets are on sale now for this historic season.
