
Mystics trim training camp roster

Washington, D.C. -The Washington Mystics has trimmed its training camp roster to 15 active players as the team gets closer to first game of the 2008 season. Mystics first round pick Crystal Langhorne made her first appearance at camp yesterday following a tournament with USA basketball in Beijing. The following players are on the 2008 Training Camp roster:

Washington's training camp roster features All- Stars Alana Beard and Taj McWilliams-Franklin, veterans Coco Miller and Nakia Sanford, as well Monique Currie.
"We have15 players right now in training camp," said Hargrove. "We have a decent mix of veterans and training camp players that we will be taking to Tampa for training camp and for our pre-season game."
The team will make its final cut on Friday, May 16th. The Mystics will practice at the Verizon Center on Wednesday, April 30th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The last 30 minutes of practice will be open to the media. Washington will take its training camp on the road to Tampa, Florida for a preseason game against the Sacramento Monarchs on May 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Bob Martinez Sports Center on the campus of the University of Tampa.
The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2008 season on Saturday, May 17th, on the road against the Indiana Fever. Washington will host the club's home opener on Sunday, May 25th, against the four-time WNBA Champion Houston Comets at 4:00 p.m. Individual tickets are currently on sale on www.ticketmaster.com.
