This Week's Opponents - Houston, Chicago & Phoenix After playing only one game in the season's first 10 days, Minnesota will play nine games in the next 19 days, beginning with three games this week. Minnesota will begin its two-game road trip in Houston Tuesday night, taking on Tina Thompson and the 0-2 Houston Comets. The Lynx dropped all three contests last season to Houston and are 7-24 all-time vs. the Comets. Minnesota's last road win vs. Houston was a 62-58 decision on June 7, 2005. Minnesota will travel to Chicago Thursday night before returning to Target Center. Chicago enters Thursday's game at 1-1, having lost to Seattle 67- 61 on opening night and defeating Sacramento 87-77 on May 22. Through two games, Candice Dupree and Armintie Price share the scoring lead for the Sky, averaging 14.5 ppg. 2008 first-round pick (second overall) Sylvia Fowles leads Chicago in rebounding, averaging 7.0 rpg. The Sky lead the all-time series 3-1 and have won three straight after Minnesota's 90-82 victory in the teams' first ever meeting (July 19, 2006 at Target Center).

The Lynx will return home to Target Center Sunday night to battle the defending WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury. Minnesota is looking to begin 2-0 at home for the first time since its inaugural 1999 season, which started with back-to-back wins over Detroit (68-51 on June 12) and Utah (78-54 on June 14). The Lynx went 1-3 versus Phoenix last season, their lone win coming on Phoenix's home floor, a 90-85 decision. Seimone Augustus led the Lynx in scoring last season versus the Mercury, averaging 18.5 ppg in four contests.

Closing Time

Minnesota outscored Detroit 16-10 in the fourth quarter on May 18, limiting the Shock to just one field goal over the game's final seven minutes. Last summer, the Lynx finished 10-2 when tied or ahead after three quarters; (0-22) when trailing. They were the WNBA's secondhighest- scoring team in the second half of games (41.5, Phoenix 46.5). Seimone's Streak Continues With her season-opening 14-point effort last Sunday versus Detroit, Seimone Augustus increased her steak of consecutive games with 10+ points to 59. The two-time all-star's streak ranks third on the WNBA's alltime list, behind only Cynthia Cooper (92) and Lauren Jackson (84). Augustus's streak is the longest current streak in the WNBA.
