CHICAGO - After an exciting home opening win, the WNBA Chicago Sky (1-1) looks to continue the momentum, facing the Minnesota Lynx (1-0) on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. at UIC Pavilion, followed by another home game against the Connecticut Sun (2-0) on Sunday, June 1 at 4 p.m..
The Sky earned their first win of the season, and the first home opening win in franchise history, with an 87-77 victory over the Sacramento Monarchs. Candice Dupree and Armintie Price led the way with 22 points each, a career-high for Price. Following a pre-game ceremony that honored Price as 2007 Rookie of the Year, she shot 9-for-12 with four assists. Rookie Sylvia Fowles added 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
SKY VS. LYNX HISTORY
The Sky is 3-1 lifetime against the Minnesota Lynx, with one loss and one win in the Sky's inaugural season and a 2-0 finish in 2007. In the team's last game against the Lynx on June 3, 2007, Candice Dupree earned a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
SKY VS. SUN HISTORY
Against the Connecticut Sun, the Sky is 1-6 lifetime. The Sky won their first game against Connecticut on June 17, 2007, with Candice Dupree scoring a game-high 28 points and Dominique Canty adding 14 points and 6 assists.

- Thursday 5/29: "Give Girls Game" fitness festival for 1000 CPS students at UIC's SEO Field, 4-5:45 p.m. The girls will walk to the arena, have dinner and watch the Sky game. Media to arrive no earlier than 4:30. Please park in Lot 5 next to SEO Field and enter festival at the registration table on Taylor Street.
- Thursday 5/29: Chicago Sky vs. Minnesota Lynx at 7 p.m. at UIC Pavilion. Game broadcast on Me-TV, NBA-TV and WVON 1690 AM
- Thursday, 5/29: Candice Dupree, Sylvia Fowles, Chas Melvin and Armintie Price will mingle with fans after the game at Morgan's Bar, 1325 S. Halsted Street (approximately 10:15 p.m.)
- Friday 5/30: Chasity Melvin at Jewel, 2940 N. Ashland, Chicago, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday 5/31: Quianna Chaney and Cathy Joens at "Chicago Run" Fun Run/Walk at Douglas Park, 1401 S. Sacramento Drive, 9-10 a.m.
- Saturday 5/31: Practice at Attack Athletics, 10 a.m. to 12 noon
- Saturday 5/31: All players (except Canty and Sharp) at Sky part at Rockit Bar & Grill, 22 W. Hubbard, 2-4 p.m. The Sky will make a major announcement at 2 p.m.
- Saturday 5/31: Dominique Canty and KB Sharp to conduct a clinic for Resurrection Basketball League players at Harrison Park, 1824 S. Wood Street, 2-4:30 p.m.
- Sunday 6/1: Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut Sun at 4 p.m. at UIC Pavilion. Game broadcast on WVON 1690 AM.
- Monday 6/2: Practice at Attack Athletics, 10 a.m. to 12 noon
"GIVE GIRLS GAME" FITNESS FESTIVAL PRIOR TO SKY GAME
The Sky Cares Foundation, along with five other girl-serving organizations, is hosting "Give Girls Game," a health and fitness festival designed to show girls age 10-16 new ways that they can get active. The event will take place on Thursday, May 29 at UIC's SEO Field from 4-6 p.m. prior to the Sky's game against the Minnesota Lynx. Girls in the Game, Girls on the Run-Chicago, the Women's Sports Foundation's GoGirlGo! Chicago program, the Chicago Park District and the Mayor's Fitness Council have helped organize the event, which will bring together mentors and coaches with over 1000 girls from Chicago Public Schools. After the girls visit all festival stations with activities like martial arts, double-dutch and cardio kickboxing, they'll walk together to the UIC Pavilion to eat dinner and watch the Sky take on the Minnesota Lynx.
