
Milwaukee promotes Miller

CHARLESTON, WV (July 16, 2006) - The West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers have made another roster move.
Today, left handed pitcher Derek Miller was promoted to High Class A Brevard County and left hander Kyle Pawelczyk was placed on the disabled list. Right handers Shawn Ferguson and Ryan Marion were both added to the roster to fill the void left by the lefties.
Derek Miller went 8-2 with a 3.57 ERA and ranked third in the league in strikeouts with 105 before being called up. Right Hander Shawn Ferguson has been called up from Helena to take his place. Ferguson, Milwaukee's ninth round pick in the 2006 draft was 0-2 in Helena with a 3.86 ERA before the call up.
Ryan Marion has been activated from the disabled list and was a 0-0 record with a save and a 7.48 ERA before going on the DL last week. Kyle Pawelczyk has been placed on the disabled list due to a back strain. Pawelczyk was 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two appearances.
The Power will continue the four game series against the Lexington Legends at Appalachian Power Park on Sunday evening. Left hander Brian Bogusevic (0-2, 7.48) will make the start for Lexington and the Power will counter with right hander Will Inman (4-1, 1.24). The first pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM.
