Catfish acquire 2006 draftee Chris Jensen

Columbus, GA - South Atlantic League home run and RBI leader RF Sergio Pedroza has been promoted from the Columbus Catfish (Low-A) to the Vero Beach Dodgers (Advanced-A).

This season Pedroza hammered 21 home runs and drove in 75 runs as one of the most dangerous sluggers in the league. In his professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers he has averaged just 14.6 at-bats per home run. Pedroza batted .281 in 89 games with the Catfish and posted an on-base percentage of .437 and a slugging percentage of .562. The 22-year-old native of California attended Cal State Fullerton before being drafted by the Dodgers in third round of the 2005 draft.

In place of Pedroza the Catfish will welcome OF Chris Jensen. The Dodgers selected Jensen in the 22nd round of the 2006 draft. This season with UCLA he batted .325 with 36 RBI and 45 runs in 58 games. The 23-year-old was born in San Diego, California.
