
Mike Egener Returns to Admirals

TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have re-assigned forward/defenseman Mike Egener ("EHG-uh-nuhr") to Norfolk from the ECHL's Mississippi Sea Wolves.
Egener, a 6-foot-3, 213-pound defenseman-turned-forward, has already appeared in six games with the Admirals this season, scoring one goal and one assist with nine penalty minutes and a +1 rating. From November to January this season, Egener missed 33 games due to injuries. In 164 career AHL games with Norfolk and the Springfield Falcons, the fourth-year pro has six goals and seven assists with 486 penalty minutes.
Egener was assigned to Mississippi on January 18. He appeared in nine games with the Sea Wolves, scoring a goal with 13 penalty minutes and a -1 rating. In 27 career ECHL games between Mississippi and the Johnstown Chiefs, Egener has three goals and two assists with 79 penalty minutes.
The Lightning drafted Egener in the second round (34th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft out of the WHL's Calgary Hitmen. In 224 career games with the Hitmen, Egener recorded six goals and 31 assists with 704 penalty minutes. He signed a one-year deal with the Lightning on July 2, 2007.
The Admirals return to Scope tonight to face off against the Philadelphia Phantoms. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a team trading card set courtesy of Konica Minolta. In addition, TNA Wrestlers "Showtime" Eric Young and "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams will be on hand to sign autographs on the concourse from 6:15 - 6:45 p.m.
