Michael Wall Wins WHL Canada Post Cup Award

Everett, WA – May 24th, 2005: Everett Silvertips goaltender Michael Wall was honored by the Canadian Hockey League as the winner of the Western Hockey League's Canada Post Cup Award today in London, Ontario. Wall received the award by tallying the most three star points during the 2004-2005 regular season. Canada Post also donated $2,500 in Michael Wall's name to the WHL education program.

The Telkwa, BC native finished 5th in the WHL in Goals Against Average (1.92), 3rd in Save Percentage (.931), tied for 8th in Wins (24) and 2nd in the WHL in Shutouts (10). In the 2005 WHL Playoffs, Wall finished with an 2.15 Goals Against Average and a .936 Save Percentage.

Throughout the entire season, the three stars of each game in the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League were awarded points towards the Canada Post Cup. The first star received 10 points, the second star received five points and the third star received two points.

Wall is currently practicing and serving as an emergency backup goaltender with the 2005 WHL Champions, Kelowna Rockets in the 2005 Master Card Memorial Cup Tournament held in London, Ontario.
