
Mets Crack Four Homers, Blast Stone Crabs 7-3

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (April 28, 2014) - The St. Lucie Mets punished the baseball and the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Monday.
The Mets bashed a season-high four home runs en route to a 7-3 win at Tradition Field.
Aderlin Rodriguez belted his third home run of the year - and third in five days - to put the Mets up 2-0 in the fourth.
Jairo Perez jacked a two-run shot off of Bruedlin Suero in the fifth to open a 5-2 lead.
Eudy Pina led off the sixth with his first home run of the year, and Brandon Nimmo lined a long ball over the right field wall in his final at bat in the eighth inning to make it 7-2.
Nimmo went 4 for 4 with a two singles, the homer and a double. He scored twice, drove in two runs and fell a triple short of the cycle.
Matt Koch tossed six strong innings, allowing just four hits and two runs in earning his second win. He held the Stone Crabs without a hit through the first four innings.
Jake Kuebler pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth. Randy Fontanez gave up a leadoff triple in the ninth but retired the next three batter out to finish off the Crabs.
T.J. Rivera went 2 for 4 and delivered the go-ahead RBI double in the fifth against Suero to put the Mets ahead 3-2.
Rivera and Nimmo are both hitting .407, the best in the Florida State League. The teammates who bat 2-3 in the lineup also have 37 hits apiece to lead the FSL.
Suero gave up five hits and five runs, including three homers, in the loss. Crabs starter Jeff Ames allowed one run in three innings in his first start back since going on the disabled list on April 14.
The Mets (14-10) and Stone Crabs (10-14) play game 2 of their three-game series at Tradition Field on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. It's a $2 Tuesday with $2 beer and soda and $2 tickets for those who show proof at the box office that they follow @stluciemets on Twitter.
