
Florida State League Names Pitcher & Player of the Week

The Florida State League named today the Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period April 21-27, 2014. The Player of the Week was Dunedin Blue Jays Outfielder Dalton Pompey. He played in seven games, had 14 hits in 31 plate appearances for a .452 batting average. His hits included one homerun, one triple, and one double. He drove in seven runs and scored nine times. He also had four stolen bases. His OBP was .514 and his slugging average was .645. Dalton is in his fifth year of professional baseball and he was born in Mississauga, ON.
The Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season was Dunedin Blue Jays Lefthander Matt Boyd. He started one game, recorded a win and had a 0.00 ERA. In eight innings pitched he allowed two hits, no walks, and struck out 12 batters. This is his second year of professional baseball and he was born in Mercer Island, WA.
