
MetroStars announce international preseason schedule

Secaucus, NJ (Friday, February 4, 2005) - The MetroStars announced today their full international preseason schedule in addition to confirming their game schedule in Bradenton, Florida.
The MetroStars will have two friendlies in Ecuador beginning on Thursday, February 24 at 4:00 p.m. EST when they play Deportivo Quevedo in Quevedo, Ecuador. On Tuesday, March 1, the Metros will face EMELEC in Guayaquil, Ecuador at 7:00 p.m. EST. The team will be returning from Ecuador on March 10. Additional matches in Ecuador are expected to be confirmed prior to the teams departure on February 23. The trip is promoted by Francisco Baquerizo and his company, Telepulsa S.A.
After returning from Ecuador, the Metros will travel to Trinidad and Tobago for a six day trip beginning on March 13. During this week, the MetroStars have two games scheduled. The first match will be Tuesday, March 15 against Jabloteh at 6:00 p.m. EST and the second will be on Friday, March 18 versus W Connection at 6:00 p.m. EST. The team will travel back to the States on Saturday, March 19.
At the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, the Metros have scheduled four matches. On Wednesday, February 9 the club will face the Dallas Burn at a time to be determined. They will also play the Columbus Crew on Friday the 11th at 11:00 a.m. and DC United on Tuesday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. The MetroStars will wrap up their Bradenton trip with a game versus the San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday, February 17th at 3:00 p.m.
