Merchantsauto.com Stadium Named Most Vegetarian Friendly In Double-A Baseball

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, are proud to announce that PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has named Merchantsauto.com Stadium the top Vegetarian-Friendly ballpark in Double-A baseball. The home of the Fisher Cats was ranked 7th in all of Minor League Baseball by PETA in its list of Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Ballparks.
"This is a unique and special honor for the Fisher Cats and our Concessionare, Centerplate," said New Hampshire Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "Our staffs are constantly striving to give our fans the best possible experience, so it is tremendous that PETA would recognize the diverse menu options we provide for our vegetarian fans."
PETA raved about the Fisher Cats offering of veggie burgers, baked potatoes, garden salad and fruit salad.
"We are honored to be recognized in this way by PETA," said Centerplate General Manager of Food Services Tim Restall. "It is a privilege to serve the fans who visit this beautiful ballpark, and we're excited to offer a number of items that meet the needs of our vegetarian fans."
"Animal-friendly and health-conscious Fisher Cats fans truly appreciate the great vegetarian food for sale at the stadium - as do the cows, chickens, fish and pigs whose lives are spared," said Chris Holbein, Senior Special Products Coordinator of PETA.
The Fisher Cats' parent club, the Toronto Blue Jays, was also honored in PETA's study. The Rogers Centre was ranked 7th among Major League stadiums for its vegetarian-friendliness.
