The Baysox are back in town, so be sure to come back to the Prince Georges Stadium tonight through Thursday night as we feature three straight FIREWORKS NIGHTS (tonight through Sunday Night) and other fun promotional events! Tomorrow night is our tribute to the ALL-AMERICAN GIRLS PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE, and Sunday night is our re-scheduled, extra special PINK IN THE PARK DAY. The home stand resumes on Tuesday night, August 14th with our BELLY BUSTER BARGAIN NIGHT (Free Hot Dog, Peanuts & Popcorn when you buy a Lower Reserved Seat Ticket!) - LOUIE LOVES HOT DOGS!!! The home stand ends on Thursday, August 16th with our only THURSDAY FIREWORKS DISPLAY of the season! The Bowie Baysox will be welcoming the First Women of baseball THIS Saturday August, 11th when the Baysox take on the Binghamton Mets at 7:05 pm. The Baysox will be welcoming the following players:

These former AAGPBL players will participate in pre-game ceremonies and will be available to meet and get Free autographs from on the stadium concourse during the game

BAYSOX TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL "PINK IN THE PARK" DAY THIS SUNDAY NIGHT

This Sunday Night, August 12th, the Baysox will host the second annual "Pink In The Park Day", A Women's Cancer Awareness Event - sponsored by Holy Cross Hospital, when the Baysox take on the Binghamton Mets at 6:05 pm. The first 1,000 female fans ages 6 & up to enter the stadium that day will receive a free specially designed pink Baysox Logo visor, while the players will be decked out in one-of-a-kind pink Baysox Jerseys! These jerseys will be auctioned off during the game and taken right off the players backs following the game, with auction proceeds benefiting the Holy Cross Hospital Breast Fund.

In partnership with Holy Cross Hospital, this event will bring Women's Cancer Awareness and the importance of routine check ups and exams to a public forum. Through this event, fans will receive educational information, instruction, and opportunities for personal consultation regarding Women's Cancer Awareness.

Prior to the game, the Baysox, Holy Cross Hospital and Maryland Regional Cancer Care will conduct special ceremonies recognizing and honoring survivors, volunteers and doctors that have been influential in this region for their efforts with Cancer treatment, awareness and prevention. Fans are encouraged to show their support for this event by wearing their own pink apparel to the game this Sunday night. Fans are also encouraged to help raise funds for a worthy cause by bidding high on the special Game Worn, One-Of-A-Kind Pink Baysox Jerseys!

The Inaugural "Pink In The Park" event on Sunday May 7th, 2006, sponsored by Holy Cross Hospital and Maryland Regional Cancer Care Center, helped to raise over $11,000 for the Holy Cross Hospital Breast Center Fund.

BAYSOX REWIND - THE WEEK THAT WAS

The Baysox reeled off a season long nine game win streak that started on Saturday, July 21st vs. Erie and ended on Tuesday, July 31st vs. Erie. The Baysox are currently in 4th place in the Eastern League's Southern Division. The Baysox have also bolstered their lineup with the additions of C Gustavo Molina, who was claimed off of waivers from the Chicago White Sox on (7/30) and optioned to AA Bowie on August 1st. The Orioles have also transferred OF Luis Montanez to AA Bowie from Triple-A Norfolk. Montanez is rated the 28th overall prospect in the Orioles organization, according to Baseball America and was batting .262 in 68 games with the Tides. SS Luis Hernandez also rejoined the Baysox last week after being optioned to from Baltimore when Melvin Mora rejoined the Orioles from the Disabled List.

The Baysox also swept Eastern League Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, with Baysox starter Radhames Liz being named EL Pitcher of the Week and 1B Luis Jimenez being named player of the week. Keep up to date on all Baysox team news online at www.baysox.com
