
Mechanics take out the Trashers 4-2!

FRASER, MI-The Motor City Mechanics take out the Danbury Trashers 4-2 tonight at the "Garage" in front of 1,703 fans on Kris Vernarksy night.
After one period of play the Mechanics and Trashers skated to a 1-1 tie. Brent Gretzky tallied the lone Mechanics goal with assists from Kyle Kos and Adam Edinger.
The Trashers took a 2-1 lead midway through the second, however, the Mechanics would take advantage of the Trashers careless play in their own zone as Scott Dobben buried a rebound to score a shorthanded goal to tie the game. 36 seconds later, Warren, Michigans own, Kris Vernarsky scored another shorthanded goal and the eventual game winning goal. Kevin Hansen, Mike Burgoyne and Chris Gignac recorded the assists on the goals.
Matt Smith scored late in the second to give the Mechanics the 4-2 lead heading into the third period of play.
Rod Branch made his 28th start of the season and made 35 saves for his 16th win of the season.
