Motor City Mechanics News Release
FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) are the new UHL record holders with a 13 game winning streak. The streak was tied at the end of the 2004-05 season at 12 and broken last night in St. Charles, MO after the Mechanics defeated the Missouri River Otters 5-2.
The old record of 12 was set and held by two teams, most recently in the 2001-02 season. The Elmira Jackals tied the Quad City Mallards record, which was set during the 1997-98 season. The Jackals won 12 spanning from October 12th, 2001 to November 4th, 2001. The Mallards won 12 spanning from October 17th, 1997 to November 15th, 1997. The last Mechanics loss was on March 20th, 2005 and throughout the remainder of the 2004-05 season to present day, they have won 13 straight.
Along with the new record of winning consecutive games in a row, the Mechanics can tie the road-winning streak of 12 set by the Kalamazoo Wings during the 2004-05 season. A win tonight over the Quad City Mallards will tie the Wings with that impressive mark of 12 road wins.
The Mechanics return to home ice October 28th and 29th for an opening weekend celebration at the Great Lakes Sports City Superior Arena A.K.A, "The Garage" on Utica Road in Fraser. Friday the Mechanics host the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30 p.m. on McDonald's Puck Night with a special appearance by Ronald McDonald! Saturday, October 29th the Mechanics host the Port Huron Flags at 7:30 p.m. All fans will receive a free Magnet Schedule courtesy of SVS Vision Optical Centers and kids can trick-or-treat with the Mechanics on the ice after the game.
