Mechanics fall to the Flags 4-3

PORT HURON, MI-The Port Huron Flags scored two power play goals in the second period en route to a 4-3 defeat of the Motor City Mechanics tonight at McMorran Arena in front of 2,649 fans.

Greg Bullock started the scoring in the first netting his 199th goal of his career with the assists from Mike Burgoyne and Kevin Hansen. Port Huron would respond scoring one of their own to end the period tied at 1-1.

The second period belonged to the Flags as they would score three goals including two power play goals. The Mechanics responded to cut the lead to 4-2 when Chris Gignac scored late in the period.

In the third, Greg Bullock netted his second goal of the game and 200th of his career when he beat Scott Hay to get within one goal. The game would end as the Mechanics were mounting the pressure to tie but the Flags held on to retake third in the division.

Rod Branch made his 29th start in net and made 21 saves in the loss. Chris Bogas finished the game with two assists.
