Motor City Mechanics News Release
FRASER, MI-The Motor City Mechanics earn the all important point tonight as they fall 2-1 in a shootout against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Great Lakes Sports City Arena.
Kory Karlander gave the Wings the early 1-0 lead at 2:56 of the first period. Tom Kotsopoulos tied the game three minutes later when he fired his tricky wrist shot past the Wings goaltender.
The game would stay tied throughout the remaining two periods as the Mechanics killed off a huge seven minute Kalamazoo power play in the third period to keep the score tied.
In the shootout both Damian Surma and Nick Bootland scored for the Wings to give them a 2-1 win as Joel Martin stopped every Mechanic attempt.
Rod Branch made his record setting 70th appearance in net and made 36 saves in defeat.
The Mechanics have two games left in the 2005-06 season, both games will be played against the Port Huron Flags with the first coming on Friday the 14th in Port Huron and then the season finale is back here in Fraser on the 15th, both games start at 7:30 PM.
