
Mechanics Defeat Mallards 4-2!

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics looked to continue their winning ways tonight as the Quad City Mallards visited the Garage for the first time this season and come up short as the Mechanics score four goals in the third period to win 4-2.
Through 20 minutes of play both teams remained scoreless. Both teams had their opportunities as 18 shots were fired by both teams combined. The Mechanics finished the period with 10 shots to just 8 Mallards shots.
Both goaltenders shined in the second period as both Rod Branch and Jason Tapp made some outstanding saves. Tapp would face the most pressure turning away 22 shots in the period. The Mechanics through two periods mounted 32 shots to just 16 Mallards shots.
Four Mechanics scored in the third. Henry Acres (2), Adam Edinger (5), Mike Burgoyne (4) and Brent Gretzky (2) tallied the goals for the Mechanics. Greg Bullock added two assists (12, 13) and Peter Szabo added two assists (7, 8).
The Mechanics return home next Saturday night November 26th when the Kalamazoo Wings come to town. Saturday is also a Team Photo Giveaway presented by Dr. Kathleen Abate, Team Dentist and 106.7 The Drive.
