McNeill off to Top Prospects Skills/Game

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan- Prince Albert Raiders forward Mark McNeill left this morning for Toronto and the CHL/NHL Home Hardware Top Prospects Skills Competition and Game this week. McNeill, ranked 22nd overall in mid season rankings by NHL Central Scouting will be part of Team Don Cherry in the event hosted at Air Canada Centre.

The Raiders enter the week in a solid 8th position in the WHL Eastern Conference, 5 points ahead of 9th place Lethbridge Hurricanes and 4 points back of 7th place Edmonton Oil Kings.

Here is the Raiders itinerary this week:

Monday, January 17th

Practice 1:00 - 3:00 PM - Art Hauser Centre

Face Off - Drew Wilson, Voice of the Raiders is joined by Kalen Kovitch as co-host for the weekly phone in show, featuring Raider General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese. Fans can call 764-2524 or email faceoff@rawlco.com with any questions or comments about the team with emphasis on the WHL Trade Deadline.

Tuesday, January 18th

Regina Pats at Raiders - 7:00 PM

The Pats are tied for 10th in the WHL Eastern Conference, 6 behind the Raiders. It is another Boston Pizza Frisbee Toss Against Cancer as fans will be able to support the Canadian Cancer Society.

Fans also will be able to sample Nicorette as part of a WHL wide promotion.

CHL/NHL Top Prospects Skills Competition

Mark McNeill will compete against 39 other top prospects at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Wednesday, January 19th

SGI Project Forward Presentation at Princess Margaret School - 9:30 AM

Nathan Deck, Brandon Herrod, Jonathan Parker and Charles Wells will visit Grade 6 and Grade 7 students. Deck and Herrod will relate their experiences from what they saw in one of Canada's most notorious drug areas during the teams' visit to Vancouver in October. Project Forward was sponsored by the RCMP.

Practice 1:00 - 3:00 PM - Art Hauser Centre

CHL/NHL Top Prospects Skills Game - 6:00 PM Rogers Sportsnet

It is Team Don Cherry vs. Team Doug Gilmour in the annual game featuring 40 of the top NHL Prospects. Raiders forward Mark McNeill will be playing for Team Cherry.

Thursday, January 20th

SGI Project Forward Presentation at King George School - 9:30 AM

Jordan Rowley, James Bettauer, Jamie Tucker and Justin Maylan will visit Grade 6 and Grade 7 students. Friday, January 21st

Calgary Hitmen at Raiders - 7:00 PM

It is the first of four meetings between the Hitmen and Raiders. The Hitmen are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.

Saturday, January 22nd

Practice 10:00 AM - Noon Art Hauser Centre
