
McNeill Joins Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled defenseman Grant McNeill from the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Wednesday.
McNeill, 23, has recorded two points (1+1) and 120 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Nailers this season. He was signed by the Penguins to an AHL contract on October 5, 2006.
Originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round (68th overall) in 2001, McNeill has appeared in 75 American Hockey League games with the San Antonio Rampage and Rochester Americans, recording two assists and 341 penalty minutes.
The Vermillion, Alberta native has recorded seven points (2+5) and 454 penalty minutes in 74 ECHL games with Wheeling, Texas and Florida, and has also played in three NHL contests with the Panthers.
The Nailers return to action on Friday night, when they take on the Toledo Storm at WesBanco Arena. The first 1500 ladies will have a chance to win a Diamond Ring courtesy of the Jewelry and Watch Company of Wheeling.
