Victoria Salmon Kings News Release


Salmon Kings will pay a visit to Victoria General Hospital's Pediatric Ward, help spread the holiday cheer at Save-On-Foods, and support Canadian Blood Services

Before a rigorous fourteen day December road trip, the Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, reach out to their community during their final home stand before Christmas.

Victoria General Hospital Visit

The Victoria Salmon Kings are proud to announce a continuing partnership with the Victoria General Hospital, as the Salmon Kings will visit the hospital to spend an afternoon with in the Pediatric Ward tomorrow (Dec 7).

Members of the team will tour the facility and visit with children, sign autographs, and leave behind some keepsakes. The Salmon Kings will be represented by Kiel McLeod, F.P. Guenette, Darryl Lloyd, Julien Ellis, James DeMone, and Brad Cook.

Pediatric services at Victoria General Hospital are provided for children and youth from birth up to the age of seventeen. A wide range of programs and services are provided, including but not limited to medical, surgical, oncology as well as pediatric day surgery, outpatient clinics, and pediatric and neonatal intensive care.

Save-On-Foods Christmas Tree sale

Need a little help hauling that Christmas tree to your car? From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (Dec 7), Salmon Kings players Greg Hornby, Ryan Jorde, and Seamus Young will be assisting at the Christmas tree sale at Save-On-Foods Saanich (3510 Blanshard St) and handing out hot cider.

Canadian Blood Services

The Victoria Salmon Kings are proud to extend their relationship with Canadian Blood Services and help provide awareness for the need of a continuous blood supply nationwide.

Look for the Canadian Blood Services volunteers handing out donation requests after tonight's Salmon Kings game versus the Long Beach Ice Dogs at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The Salmon Kings will also be providing donations to be raffled at various blood clinics in Greater Victoria.

Canadian Blood Services is a national, not-for-profit organization that manages the blood supply in all provinces and territories outside of Québec and oversee the country's Unrelated Bone Marrow Donor Registry. They have a dedicated team of over 4,000 staff and 17,000 volunteers across the country.

The Salmon Kings three-game series versus the Long Beach Ice Dogs begins tonight, and continues Friday and Saturday at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. All three games start at 7:05 p.m.

Game Promos

Tonight is "Pucks for Pasta" night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. If the Salmon Kings win, fans can redeem the ticket stub for a FREE spaghetti dinner at the Olde Spaghetti Factory for up to seven days following the game.

Don't forget to bring your teddy bears and support the annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Salmon Kings game on December 9! All teddy bears tossed on the ice after the Salmon Kings first goal will be donated to the Santa's Anonymous Fund.
