
Baker Honored as the CCM Tacks ECHL Player of the Month

Princeton, NJ (December 6, 2006) - Kevin Baker of the Texas Wildcatters is the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for November.
The 27-year-old led the ECHL in November with 12 goals and seven power-play goals and was second in scoring during the month with 21 points.
He scored in each of his 12 games in November to extend his scoring streak to a league-high 16 games which through the first six weeks of the season was every game he played for the Wildcatters.
Baker had three multiple-goal and six multiple-point games in November beginning on Nov. 3 when he scored the game-winning goal and a power-play goal in a 5-2 win at Columbia. He had three points in a 4-3 win at Charlotte on Nov. 5 and scored four points in a 6-5 win at Florida on Nov. 28, tying his career highs with three goals and four points.
The 6-foot-1 and 195-pound Baker began December as the league leader with 16 goals, 11 power-play goals and 17 power-play points and was tied for the lead with three game-winning goals while ranking second with 28 points. He has three two-goal games, one three-goal game, two two-assist games and eight multiple-point games.
Baker was also named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for October 30-November 5. In three games, Baker scored five goals and had an assist, including the game tying goal in the last minute in Charlotte which helped the 'Catters to earn a point.
He played the last three years at Acadia University where he had 103 points (58g-45a) and 78 penalty minutes in 77 games. Selected in the seventh round (193rd overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Baker played professionally in the ECHL and the American Hockey League from 2000-02 before returning to school.
