Another day brought another award for the North Shore Spirit as Shaun McNamara claimed Rookie Pitcher of the Year honors on Friday as voted on by the eight field managers and media members of the CanAm League.

In his first season of professional baseball, McNamara compiled a perfect record of 5-0 with an ERA of just 2.15. He recorded one shutout and one complete game, and he struck out 27 in 46 innings pitched.

The 22-year-old Worcester, MA resident went to Brown University where he appeared in 43 games for the Bears, starting 27 in his four-year tenure. He led Brown his senior season with 45 strikeouts and finished his career seventh all-time in the school's history with 167 strikeouts.

McNamara is the eighth different member of the Spirit organization to garner postseason accolades this week.

John Kennedy and Vic Davilla captured Manager of the Year and Player of the Year titles respectively, while Davilla, Ricardo Cordova, Kevin Fitzgerald, Bryan Morse, Chris Rowan, and Alex Trezza were all named to the postseason All-Star team.
