The Brockton Rox took 2-1 series lead over the New Haven County Cutters thanks to a great offensive output and a solid outing from starting pitcher Rolando Viera. Viera allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out nine through seven innings of work to help Brockton move within one game of the Can-Am championship series. The Rox pounded out 12 hits in the game, led by DH Francisco Lebron who was 2-for-5 with a home run, his second of the series and two runs batted in. 3B Jeff LaRue also homered in the game and finished the night 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Brockton closer Jon Koch picked up the save after 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
