Terni, McNamara selected Can-Am League Rookies of the Year

DURHAM, NC - New Haven County 3B Jeremy Terni and North Shore RHP Shaun McNamara have been selected as the Can-Am League's Rookie Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, as voted by league managers and media representatives.

Terni hit .295 with eight home runs, 42 RBIs, and a .456 slugging percentage in 71 games for the 53-38 Cutters. The New Haven, CT resident played collegiate baseball at Southern Connecticut State University. In 2005 for the regular season champion Owls, Terni was named 2nd Team All-Conference in the Northeast-10 Conference batting .402 with five home runs, 30 RBIs, and 53 hits.

McNamara had a perfect record of 5-0 for the Spirit along with a 2.15 earned run average and 27 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. The 22-year-old Worcester, MA resident went to Brown University where he appeared in 43 games for the Bears, starting 27 in his four-year tenure. He led Brown his senior season with 45 strikeouts and finished his career seventh all-time in the school's history with 167 strikeouts.
