(Williamsport Crosscutters)
Former American League MVP and two-time Cy Young Award winner, Denny McLain, will return to Susquehanna Bank Park on Wednesday, August 26 to meet fans and sign free autographs when the Williamsport host the State College Spikes at 7:05pm.
McLain, who pitched for ten seasons in the major leagues, will begin signing autographs at 7pm on The Patio, located directly behind the Crosscutters dugout on the first base side of the stadium. Prior to the autograph session, he will be the interview guest on Pregame Live, a live on-field interview at 6:25pm and throw a ceremonial first pitch.
McLain was 31-6 with a 1.96 ERA in 1968 while capturing the AL MVP and Cy Young Awards. He followed up that record season with a 24-9 record in 1969 to win his second consecutive Cy Young Award. He registered 20 or more wins three times in his career. He has been a frequent and popular autograph guest of the Cutters over the past several seasons.
In addition, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a trading pin depicting one of the Bases-Loaded Little League statues, courtesy of the Lycoming County Visitor's Bureau.
Tickets for the game are still available at (570) 326-3389 or at the box office on game night.
