
McKnight placed on DL

CHARLESTON, WV (July 3, 2006) - The West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers have made another roster move.
Today, middle infielder Scotty McKnight was placed on the disabled list, and Hector Bernal, Milwaukee's 14th round pick in the 2006 draft has been promoted from the Arizona League to take his place.
Bernal, a shortstop hit .385 over five games with the Arizona Brewers and knocked in five runs during that stretch. He is a first year player out of El Paso Community College.
McKnight was placed on the disabled list due to a fractured left wrist. McKnight began the year with West Virginia, and then spent most of May with Brevard County in the Florida State League. McKnight hit .294 over 18 games with the Power before heading to the disabled list.
The Power will wrap up their eight game road trip against the Greenville Drive at West End Field in Greenville, South Carolina on Monday. Greenville will start right hander Clay Buccholz (4-2, 2.74) and the Power will start left hander Steve Garrison (2-2, 3.99). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
