
Stanley Cup to make appearance at First Horizon Park

(Greensboro, NC) The Greensboro Grasshoppers and Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to announce the first appearance of the Stanley Cup in Greensboro will take place on Wednesday, July 5 at First Horizon Park.
The trophy will be on display at First Horizon Park from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on Natty's Hill, located in the left field picnic area. Hurricanes mascot Stormy will also be on hand to greet fans wishing to take pictures. A ticket for the Wednesday night game against the Greenville Drive is required for admission to the night's events.
"This is a true honor for us to welcome the Stanley Cup into our facility and our city," said Grasshoppers President Donald Moore. "It is such a well recognized symbol of athletic competition that it is hard not to be in total awe of such an opportunity."
In 1997, the Hurricanes played their first preseason game, and their next two seasons, at the Greensboro Coliseum.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers return to First Horizon Park Tuesday, July 4th for a four game series against the Greenville Drive.
