
McKenzie Recalled to AHL Chicago

Forward Ian McKenzie has been re-assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League by the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League. McKenzie was acquired by the Thrashers on September 1, 2010 from Nashville in exchange for Grant Lewis.
McKenzie has earned eight points (two goals, six assists) in 32 games this season with the Gladiators. He had points in back-to-back games for the Gladiators on November 13th at Cincinnati and November 19th at South Carolina. McKenzie was even or better (+1) in seven consecutive games from November 19th throgh November 27th with the Gladiators. McKenzie has also appeared in on game with Chicago this season.
The Weyburn, Saskatchewan, native split time in each of the past two seasons with Milwaukee of the AHL and Cincinnati of the ECHL. He skated in 24 games with both Cincinnati and Milwaukee last year. In the AHL, he earned one goal with Milwaukee and recorded five points in the ECHL with Cincinnati last season. McKenzie also helped the Cincinnati Cyclones to the 2010 Kelly Cup Championship as he collected six points (three goals, three assists) in 15 playoff games.
He had 15 points (12 goals, three assists) in 40 games with Cincinnati during the 2008-09 season. He earned four points (three goals, one assist) in 26 games with Milwaukee. He also had eight points (four goals, four assists) in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games in the 2009 playoffs.
McKenzie played parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League with Moose Jaw and Seattle. He posted 76 points (39 goals, 37 assists) in 228 career junior games in the WHL.
The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
