
McDonald Named American Association Batter of the Week

WICHITA, KS - Wichita Wingnuts' center fielder Jared McDonald has been named the American Association's Batter of the Week for May 27th-June 2nd.
McDonald hit .591 in six games last week with five doubles, seven runs scored, and six RBI. The Tucson, AZ native had at least one hit in all six contests and helped the Wingnuts go 5-1. Last Wednesday, McDonald had a four-hit game versus Amarillo, and scored the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning.
McDonald is currently batting .370 for the season, which ranks tied for eighth in the American Association. The 25-year-old outfielder also ranks tied for third with eight doubles.
