MADISON, WI - The Battle Creek Bombers bested the Madison Mallards Wednesday night in the series opener at Warner Park 6-4.

The Mallards scored single runs in the first two innings, however RBI singles by AJ Spanel in his first two plate appearances put Battle Creek on top 3-2. Chris McCoy then crushed a 1-1 pitch from Trevor Foss off the scoreboard in right field to make it a 5-2 game in the 4th inning. Kyle Figgins drew a bases loaded walk in the 7th inning to pad the Bombers lead to 6-3, and the bullpen took it from there.

Dan Tyson threw well in relief of starter Caleb Vincent after he finished the first five innings giving up three earned runs. With two-on and nobody out in the 8th inning, Alex Tukey was called upon to finish the game. He stepped up to the task getting the final six outs to record the save.
