GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday reassigned goaltender Thomas McCollum to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye from the Grand Rapids Griffins, who subsequently signed goalie Jimmy Spratt (right) to a professional tryout.

Spratt, 25, owns a 6-2-0 mark with a 3.14 GAA and a 0.901 save percentage in nine outings with Toledo, after going 1-2-0 with a 5.19 GAA and a 0.826 save percentage in five games with the Central Hockey League's Rapid City Rush earlier this season. A native of Chesterfield, Mich., Spratt logged four years at Bowling Green State University from 2005-09. He is expected to back up Jordan Pearce on Friday when the Griffins host the Lake Erie Monsters at 7 p.m.
