Cleveland Barons News Release
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Barons and the City of Cleveland today announced that the inaugural "Halloran Holiday Skate With The Barons" will be held on Sunday, December 7, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Halloran Park. Jane L. Campbell, Mayor of Cleveland, and Michael T. Lehr, President of the Barons, made the announcement.
Mayor Campbell will lace up her skates with the entire Barons roster and Cleveland community. The Barons will skate, sign autographs, and take photographs with all fans in attendance. Admission to the event and skate rental is free to all. Halloran Park is located on West 117th Street and Linnet Avenue in Cleveland.
"We are so excited about this new partnership with the Cleveland Barons and what it will bring the residents of the City of Cleveland and users of Halloran Ice Rink," stated Mayor Campbell. "Halloran is Cleveland's only public ice rink, and through this partnership, residents will experience the wonderful activities that Halloran has to offer."
Donations will be accepted to benefit Halloran Park, the only city-funded ice rink in the Greater Cleveland area. Complimentary food and beverages will be available.
Earlier this year, the Cleveland Barons assisted in lining the outdoor rink for hockey purposes. For the first time in the rink's 44-year existence, the ice can be used for hockey games.
"It is important to revitalize Halloran Park, as it is an asset that all Clevelanders can use," stated Lehr. "It's the perfect atmosphere for the holiday season. Families can visit Santa Clause while skating with the Barons and drinking hot cocoa."
Barons tickets can be purchased at all TicketMaster Outlets, the Gund Arena Box Office, and charge-by-phone be calling 216-241-5555. More information about the Barons is available by calling 216-420-0000 or by Crashing The Net at www.clevelandbarons.net.
