November 13, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release

Charlie Stephens scored the game-winning goal in the second period as the BEARS kicked off their four game road trip with a 2-1 victory over the Norfolk Admirals.

The BEARS got off to a good start with Steve Brule's fifth goal of the season just 49 seconds into the game. Just a couple of minutes later at the 3:07 mark, Carsen Germyn took a pass from Ajay Baines and slipped one by goaltender Tom Lawson to tie the game at one. The only goal of the second period was a short handed goal by Charlie Stephens, who scored his fourth goal of the season. The BEARS mustered just five shots on goal in the first and second periods, but took a 2-1 lead to second intermission. Tom Lawson stopped all 11 shots in the third period to preserve the victory.

HERSHEY will be back in action Saturday night in Norfolk for the second game of the two game season series. Face off Saturday is at 7:30 p.m., with air time on BIG 92.7 FM at 7:10 p.m.
